Friends How Many Of Us Have Them

Friends are the people we chose to have in our lives. And we all have different friends in our lives that fill different roles. I have been blessed by so many friends in my life. I felt the need to write about them and to celebrate them as a whole. It would take me forever to single them all out, but they all know who they are. I have that one girlfriend who I can tell absolutely everything to and she will never ever judge me. No matter how bad it may be. She will always keep my secrets. And she will take them to the grave with her. I have my hanging partner who no matter what or where she is always down to go for the experience. And oh what an experience it will be. I have a friend who will always tell me the truth no matter what and I know that the words she speaks only come from the heart. And sometimes the things she needs to tell me are things that are hard to hear but always what I need to hear. I have friends who will listen to me bitch and moan about my relationship and not tell me what I should do but support me in what I decide to do. I have my male friends. Who have been a part of my life for a long long time and who listen to me and give me encouragement and even a flirt here or there if that is what I need. My friends love me. They love me not because they have to but because they want to. We bring something to each others lives that we would miss if it were to go away. My friends are as important to me as the air I breath. They help me to remain steadfast in my path in life. They help me to grow and reach for higher goals. Things I didn't even see for myself, my friends see for me. Recently one of my wonderful friends saw that I needed a break. This friend saw that I needed to get away from the things that stress me out on a daily basis. This WONDERFUL friend saw an opportunity for me to spread my wings a bit and to find fellowship with other like minded people and this friend encouraged me to take the time and get away and do it for ME. This friend told me to trust him. That it was what I needed to do. And I reached out and I trusted and I do believe that this is what I need because sometimes just sometimes people see what you need before you even realize you need it. And that is where a true friend lies. They lie in the middle of my being. They understand you and they know just what to say and do to bring peace and contentment to your life. I truly from the bottom of my heart love my friends who can see deep inside of me to the core of who Kim Holland is. They see past the outward image and they see my soul. I love each and every one of you for all that you have brought to my life and all that you will continue to bring to me on a regular basis. I am forever in your debt. Know that there is not one thing I would not do for each and every one of you. The love you express to me every day is sent back to you ten fold for the rest of your life. Thank you for being MY friend. I love you guys! Kisses and hugs and a pinch on your butt.

The Power of No

It only has two letters in it. It isn't and imposing word. It isn't hard to pronounce but it can be extremely hard to say. "NO". No I won't lend you money. No I won't let you crash on my couch. No I can't stop what I am doing to take you and your friends to the mall. Seems simple enough. So then please tell me why it is so hard for me to say it. And not feel guilty about letting someone you care about down. Why do I sometimes feel the need to say yes so that people will like me? Even at my age I still feel the need for people to like me. I thought I would be past this by now. I have a close nit group of friends who I rely on and I have a son who I cherish and people who may not be blood but are my chosen family. That should be enough.

My homework for this week is to say no. Simple and easy and hard to do. I think if we all can bring ourselves to realize that saying no will not turn away the people who actually care about you and bring to light the people that are just using you then we can grow past the things that hold us back in life. So this is what I am going to do. From this moment on. If you ask me for something and I just can't do it or I don't have time to do it. I am going to tell you no. How you receive my No is up to you. Know that my No does not mean I don't care about you. And it doesn't mean I don't cherish our relationship. It just means No.

I have been away too long

I am going to dedicate myself to restarting this blog and trying to post at least once a week. I felt good while posting this in the past and I want to feel that again. So over the next week I will come back and update you on my ever changing life.
